🔼 Weekend in Florida. The volleyball team played at the Dolphin Volleyball Classic this past weekend. The Chants beat Jacksonville 3-1 and fell to UConn 3-2 on Friday. Anzley Rinard led the team with 33 kills on the day. Hatteras Welker added 19 hills. The women ended on a high note with a 3-1 victory against Florida A&M on Saturday. Freshman Talia Johnson recorded a match-high 17 kills.

🔼 Starting Strong. The men’s golf team played the first round of the Myrtle Beach Golf Trips Intercollegiate. The Chants are tied for fifth place with a score of 280 (-8). Jack Lee leads the team individually tied for second place. Waymon Thomas and Drew Sykes follow in 28th place.

🔼 Just Short. The football team opened its season against West Virginia on Saturday and fell short 31-24. The Chants make a big comeback after being down 24-0 at halftime. Clayton Coppock had two touchdowns and Colton Hinton had one. Quarterback Deuce Bailey threw 373 yards on 21 completions and three touchdowns.

🔼 Fought Hard. The men’s soccer team was able to score one goal against Gardner-Webb on Saturday, but it wasn’t enough as they fell 2-1. Pearse O’Brien scored the lone goal for the Chants. Coastal is now 1-2-1 this season. The women’s soccer team also fell this past weekend. The Chants lost to Davidson 1-0. Coastal had nine shots and one was on goal. The women are now 4-2-0 in 2026.

Season Opener. The cross country team started its season at the Elon Opener on Friday. The men finished in second place and the women finished in ninth.

Owen Mullins led the men with a ##th-place finish in the 6k with a time of 19:45.9.

🔼 Round One. The women’s golf team played the first round at the Golfweek Fall Challenge. The Chants are in eighth place with a score of 1-under par. Anna-Katherina Brehm and Celeste Mangeat led the team, tied for16th place individually. They each hit a 70 (-1). Carla Bourdeaux hit even to par and is tied for 24th individually.
