🔼 In the Trenches. Today, we are looking at the offensive line. There are 16 O-line players who average 320lbs. Seven are returners from last season’s roster. One of the seven is Tray Franklin. He earned Second Team All-MEAC honors. Daniel Jones saw action in all 13 games last season. There are five freshmen and four transfers in the OL group.

🔼 Benefiting. Four new players on the volleyball team—Natalie Hughes, Talia Johnson, Jonna Spohn, and Hatteras Welker—benefited significantly from enrolling early in January. Joining for the spring semester gave them extra time to learn head coach Steve Loeswick's system, adjust to academic life, and build chemistry with their teammates before the intense preseason started. Beyond the extra court practice, the early arrival helped them forge strong off-court bonds that made transitioning to their new environment much smoother.

🔼 Two Goals. The men’s soccer team faced Longwood on Monday. The Chants had seven shots and five were on goal. Goalkeeper Will Devine had three saves. Longwood had 13 shots and eight were on goal, winning the game 4-2.

🔼 Welcome! The women’s lacrosse team welcomes Kaelin Hogan as an assistant coach. Hogan recently spent three seasons as an assistant coach at East Carolina. While at ECU, the Pirates doubled their win total from her first season on staff to her third. Before joining East Carolina, Hogan spent three seasons at Roger Williams University, where she helped guide the Hawks to three consecutive Commonwealth Coast Conference Tournament titles and NCAA Tournament appearances in 2021, 2022 and 2023.
