🔼 Victory! The women’s soccer team shut out UNC Greensboro 1-0 on Thursday. Kyra Kotsopoulos scored in the fourth minute of the game. Aris Lamanna recorded her third shutout of the season making five saves in the first match. The Chants are now 3-1-0 this season.

🔼 Weekly Honors. Both the men’s and women’s soccer teams had players earn Sun Belt weekly honors. For the women, Olivia Lawrence was named the Offensive Player of the Week. She scored two goals and had one assist across 85 minutes of playing time. For the men, Will Devine was named the Defensive Player of the Week. He faced 19 shots in the shutout against No. 2 NC State. He was also named to the TopDrawerSoccer National Team of the Week. Devine is the 26th Chanticleer in program history to earn a spot on the TDS National Team of the Week.

🔼 Welcome! The beach volleyball team named Cati Leak as the new head coach. She is the fifth head coach in program history. She recently served as an assistant coach at LSU from 2019 to 2026 and was named to the AVCA 30 Under 30 list in 2023.

🔼 New Teammate. The volleyball team welcomed 14-year-old Claire Duncan as its newest team member through Team IMPACT. Duncan, the very first Team IMPACT match in CCU history, had a special signing ceremony inside the HTC Center. Team IMPACT, a national nonprofit organization, has developed a unique multiyear program that matches children facing serious illnesses and disabilities with college athletic teams across the country. Based on a clinical model, Team IMPACT guides mutually beneficial relationships between teams and children focused on socialization, empowerment and resilience.
